The Region of Murcia Brussels Office was set up in 1989 by Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (INFO) and it has been part of Autonomous Community’s organisational structure since 1996. The office is currently managed by Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia and the Directorate General for the European Union and International Action and Cooperation.

What is it?
- For providing information on European programmes and initiatives; facilitating contacts in institutions, organisms and European networks; fulfilling an accompaniment or representation role in events; resolving doubts about European regulations; and providing support for event organisation.
- Our office is available for holding European project meetings or for temporary stays.
- For monitoring the decision-making process and obtaining and disseminating information on European Union legislative initiatives, actions and programmes that affect regional competences or interests.
- For providing information and guidance on European Union funding programmes.
- For facilitating contact and meetings between social and economic agents and autonomous community authorities with representatives of EU institutions and other European organisms.
- For facilitating contact with other European regions in order to favour interregional cooperation.
What is its role?
- Support for institutional representation of the Region of Murcia.
- Tracking, analysing and disseminating EU programmes, initiatives and regulations that are of interest to the Region of Murcia.
- Identifying European programme funding and guidance opportunities throughout the life cycle of European projects.
- Support for Region of Murcia participation in EU decision-making processes through the established channels.
- Resolving consultations on European policies and programmes that stem from the regional government and other public and private entities in the region, as well as from individuals.
- Coordinating and arranging interviews and events between politicians and economic and social agents from the Region with European institutions and organisms, European networks and other entities located in the capital city of Belgium.
- The branch’s offices are used as a workspace for events further to requests made by entities from Murcia.
- Contribution towards an improved understanding of the Region of Murcia in Europe.

Any individual, business, organism or institution from the Region of Murcia.

La Región consolida su liderazgo emprendedor en el foro del 'Día de la Persona Emprendedora WIP' que reúne a 3.000 personas

El ‘Día de la Persona Emprendedora WIP 2025’, organizado por la Consejería de Empresa, Empleo y Economía Social, a través del Instituto de Fomento (Info), ha reunido hoy a más de 3.000 personas, consolidándose como cita de referencia tanto para quienes forman parte del ecosistema emprendedor regional, como para quienes han querido acercarse a él.

El programa de la jornada incluye dos grandes bloques. Por la mañana, el segmento ‘Rookie’, dirigido a jóvenes, centros educativos y primeros proyectos, y por la tarde el bloque ‘Emprendedores’, con ‘startups’ consolidadas, inversores y pymes en crecimiento. El evento finaliza con la elección del mejor emprendedor del año, seleccionado entre los ganadores mensuales del programa ‘Emprendedor del Mes’, reconociendo la capacidad de crecimiento y la creación de empleo de los proyectos más destacados.

La consejera de Empresa, Empleo y Economía Social, Marisa López Aragón, que visitó esta mañana el espacio joven, destacó que “la Región de Murcia mantiene un ritmo emprendedor superior a la media nacional, con casi 2.000 sociedades creadas entre enero y agosto, lo que supone un crecimiento interanual del 6,5 por ciento frente al 5,2 por ciento nacional. En términos diarios, son 8,1 nuevas empresas cada día, frente a las 6,5 del conjunto del país”.

A lo largo de la jornada se combinan charlas, talleres prácticos y espacios diseñados para conectar ideas, talento y financiación. Entre los temas destacados figuran la creación de empresas tecnológicas, la internacionalización, las estrategias de crecimiento y el papel del inversor, todos ellos orientados a convertir proyectos en negocios reales.

López Aragón subrayó que “somos la séptima comunidad con más ‘startups’ y una de las regiones a la vanguardia en políticas de apoyo al emprendimiento tecnológico, con un esquema de ayudas que no existe en ninguna otra parte de España” y recordó que este año concluye la actual Estrategia de Emprendimiento y que ya se trabaja en una nueva hoja de ruta “que reforzará la colaboración público-privada, un instrumento que se ha revelado esencial para impulsar el ecosistema regional y mantener el atractivo inversor”.
